February 13th Professional Learning Day has ended
Directions: Thank you for participating in our Special Education Professional Development Afternoon!  All participants are required to attend three sessions: Special Education Law (Blue), one Differentiation session (Red) and one Accommodation & Modification session (Green).   Since the identical Special Education Law session runs during all three blocks, it is recommended that you select a "Differentiation session" and an "Accommodation & Modification session" that you’re interested first and then select a Special Ed Law session for your remaining time slot.  At the conclusion of the day, you will meet in your department to debrief your experience and discuss applications in your field.

Today’s Purpose: Whether you work exclusively with special education students or have a handful in your class, it is important for all educators to be up to date on the laws that govern our practice and the various ways to differentiate, accommodate and modify for learners.  While our undergraduate and graduate educations most certainly covered these topics, this afternoon’s session is meant to refresh your memory and bring you up to date on changes.  Finally, many of the approaches that will be discussed today are best practices for all of our students not just those with IEPs.  We hope you find this afternoon to be practical and beneficial!
